Part D: Celebration =D

Monday, June 14, 2010 // 12:37 AM

Ok, I am like 11 hours late for this post and with the laptop at 30% battery, let make this post a quick one.

Day 4: Came like OMG early that day, for no apparent reason. ZZZ, just like going to school typically, always on the dot with a few rare days which I'm early without any intentions. Here's where my memories get quite hazy...

YN meeting 2: Ok, so the faculties have decided to go with YCA's papers, I pretty much expected it since I felt it was overall well-covered. Here's when the "Something has happened!" happened. Eugene, who looks bored during the meeting, started drawing all those political cartoons. ( I think it started on day 3 but was small-scale ) Got all the funny stuff like China, Revolutions, communism etc. I know he's trying to diss them and it's funny, but...it's not right with a PRC in the faculty as well, even though her command of English is limited. Of course the usual distractions...need I really explain?

(gosh battery is at 19%, wth is wrong with this laptop...)

[Edit] Ok, 10:33 AM, let's go.

Ok the speech by the Minister of State (forgotten his name zzz) was quite...how should I say, expected? But I have to say MP having FB or Twitter is good =D I' not sure why so many PRC asked him questions. Maybe it's due to limited access to social media there...

Ok getting cut by the lanyard is really making me go WTH. Lunch, playing MRT, wanted to adjust lanyard, move too fast, cut my palm, win. It's still there as of now. Oh ya, next time if you want to play MRT with me, I want to see whether I feel pain or your hands feel pain 1st. =)

I'll stop here for a while, the next part must take time to post =D

[Edit x2] Ok let's really end this post this time.

Of course the last thing: GRAND FINALE!

Prep was screwed, no one really knows what to do. But random here, random there, co-operation with the other Faculties, well we put on a show =D Now for the real deal. To use a song to sum it up, it was like A Party in the USA, constantly high =) Be it speeches where everyone cheered after each part (rofl), dances, learning to speak Cantonese, it makes me Iexcited (yup, after the 1st performance of I-[put word here] ) Whether dancing to Hot N Cold, Baby, Down, Bad Romance, some random Kpop like Sorry Sorry, everyone had fun, after all isn't this the purpose of all these? =D I should have brought my camera that day.

Alas, all good things must come to an end. We took some final pics for memories sake, with Syed ninja-ing back at the last sec. I wonder was it a mistake I did not attend the previous SLC? I don't think so, or else how could I know so many unique personalities within Andorra? This was perhaps the one rare decision I never regret a single bit my whole life. Thanks guys for making it a wonderful experience.

Part C: The Real Deal

Sunday, June 13, 2010 // 12:33 AM

(I think I better finish this part like asap =p)

Day 2, time for the thing we are waiting for. WORK! After a brief meeting, it was simply discussions, discussions, and more discussions. Of course this was when Natthida joined us, cuz she like ponned the 1st day? (lol) Boy she indeed made things more livelier to the already lively group =D. At first it started slow, KohKT slow. Maybe because the topic is is the most WTF topic: Limited Access to Social Media. When I saw that topic on the booklet the night before (reading up ftw, ironic I NEVER did that for geog test AND exam and screwed it bad x2), I was like "Die Riao". Seriously, with limited funds, WTH can you ACTUALLY do in SG context???!!! But it must be done, thus planned and typed down the plans.

The part of faculty leader, why was I elected, like oldest = leader? Got like that meh? zzz. Moving on, work efficiency was very low at first, perhaps due to everyone was like Patrick from Spongebob, "Uhhhhh....." (Topic FTL btw) But as pressure mounts (thanks to time limit), work rate rises like exponentially.

YC meeting 1: Ok, blah^3. Seriously, getting me to present is like gone case =( I must know the presentation like the back of my hand to really have eye contact. My speech also like freaking unclear... Seriously wth...somehow gotta correct it, somehow. That was like when the other faculties like 不爽 us. From day 3, we learnt that it was mostly due to Eugene's slightly offensive tone he took when presenting and Q&A. I found it all right though, quite justified arguments from Eugene (He's HP, whatya expect?) Budget debate: everyone seems ok with our share of the pie, a relief considering the hostilities the Andorrans can sense in the air. Of course the bombshell after the meeting: we 离题. Gosh, the worst thing that can happen here and Composition. Apparently, we took the perspective of MDCs, while actually the target is LDCs. (Wonders how I didn't see that while we were planning) All this = REWRITE within 2 hours the next day. A challenge, but heck I love it.
(I skipped everything else from day 2, except MRT, rofl fun, but I think you guys can whack me and feel pain before I feel it.)

Day 3, a new day(but it is a Thursday, and many Thursday have passed, so how can it be new? Ok being lame moving on) But same beginning like yesterday (ok maybe except before 8am, where in MRT everyone keep slapping each other like Doubleslap from Pokemon, wait it IS a double slap from 2 ppl). Ok except rushing out an action paper in 2 hours is like NEAR-IMPOSSIBLE. So chiong lor, not much choice we have do we? I must say, Phoebe does an excellent piece of the intro, must be due to the fact she's from debate, accustomed to such a style of writing intros, making a stand about the issue etc. Somehow without Roy And Syed, work rate seems SLIGHTLY higher (I think I going to get shot for this.). Perhaps economics can be applied here. When there's higher demand, you need more supply. Similarly, to make up for less manpower, they will need to put in extra effort to cover up the lost manpower. Like a F=ma equation where F is a constant.

YC meeting 2: Same old for the other 2 faculties, just modded it to match their allocated budget. Ours is screwed. They rejected it simply because they don't get it, feels it's NA or so it seems. Ok, wasn't at the best of moods then: honestly, w.t.f., you guys are doing problems MDCs are facing, with SG being one such country, it's easy to draft a plan. We are targeting an audience that is NOT us, wth can we actually goddamn do?! Tell us what can work, not just say what can't kriffin work. ( at least some ppl did like ZW ) In the end it got accepted, cuz it HAD to. zzz, not really the best of moods then to be honest.

YN meeting 1: Ah well, it all boils down to this right? Oddly, Eugene went missing for quite a while, where he went none of us have a faintest clue. Presentations after presentations and Eugene finally showing up, all went more or less ok. 2 observations : One, why in the world EVERYONE has at least Online campaign showing up once, as much it is an "politically correct" method to get to youths, but it isn't really effective to get the message as will youths really give a damn care? I think not. Two, why Wisely and Phoebe, why in the world you two keep disturbing each other during this meeting. So much for formality, zzz. Speaking on a mic sucks btw.

At the end of the day, photoshoot! All thanks to Syed, we got the pose he did on Day 1, which I didn't see thanks to SMO (it can really go and rot). If only Roy and Syed was there then. Framed the pic up after the whole event.

Ok it's 1:43 AM and I spent like 45 mins on this post. Look out for the last part in less than 12 hours time: Part D: Celebration. I'm out.
Part B: The Path

Wednesday, June 9, 2010 // 11:55 PM

Continuing from the previous post...let's go.

Rushing back from SMO, went to KKH. Was wandering about as I just seems to find Andorra!!! (Hey honestly, if everyone is dressed more or less the same, how would I know?) After like 7 minutes, found them, they were like quite close to me. -_____-" (Fail) Settled down, of course Syed was the first to introduce himself to me. Got down, everyone introduced themselves. (felt very zi-bei for going for SMO, but got ACE...) Ok, then my memories really fails.

Next stop, Suntec. Of course who can forget Syed's jokes on the bus. The MRT joke, racist jokes and of coure, the GREEN BEAN BUN! Epic man.

There at Suntec for orientation games. I'm not gonna eat another double quarter pounder again, period. Moving on, the games were erm...ok yeah those types. We were like a bit blatant in cheating for the table tennis ball one, but heck if the station master don't care, why should we? Walk to A, then B, then C, then A again...so on so forth. Of course we made too much noise to kena driven out =D (yays for driven out) Jumpshots, tissue paper, describing something, mrt, all done. ( Btw you know the damsels-servants-[insert last guy here] game? I guessed Love Drunk cuz a) I was blasting BLG then b) I kinda fail in such things) Fun, at least I personally explored this area so I'll know how to go next time. (Didn't know Esplanade MRT is ALSO connected to Suntec)

This pretty much concludes day 1 (I dao-ed debrief as usual) Part C: The Real Deal tmr. On a side note, I only discovered the post-it notes for the SLC 3 days ago, thought I lost mine at first. *epic fail ftw!*
16th SLC!!!!!! (dead blog ftw!) Part A: The Firestarter

Tuesday, June 8, 2010 // 11:45 PM

Looking back at SLC, I was like, wow, my world just like added another chapter in my life. A totally surreal experience. Simply amazing. Astounding. Lost for words.

Let's go back to it all began. EMB message, saw it. Was quite interested actually, but I dao-ed it. Yup dao-ed it. Now how come I was still there?

Ok Ms Pek ( my maths teacher and one of the teachers in charge for this iirc ) came to class. Usual lessons but somewhere at the end she mentioned about SLC. Participants from Aphelion was like damn little, like half filled. I reconsidered my options again, perhaps God was trying to send me a message with this. I jumped at this chance, no way I am letting go of a chance to open a new perspective. Of course, others like Jared, Han Hao, Lufei, Dayou etc. jumped aboard this ship as well.

Day 1: Ok came FREAKING early at 7am. Dunno why, don't care. Signup and all the stuff, yeah then 1st briefing. Everyone was like *dead air blows by* ok all formal and stuff. Fast forward to SMO. Ok, shouldn't have wasted 2 kriffin hours on a paper which knowing 10 questions is like imba. With the rushed feeling to go back to SLC, I just rushed through the whole paper and rushed back.

Part 2: The Path tmr, I'm rushed now as well, lol.
I don't want to be....a murderer.

Monday, April 26, 2010 // 11:05 PM

Let's start with school, fked up 2.4km run, 1.2km mark 5.5 min, finished 16.5 min zzzz

Back to the main topic, I totally was out of control during dinner, what was I thinking with that knife....I have no idea. The 1st step to madness?? Perhaps....

This will etch in my memories, I can still feel that grip in my right hand.....
Twister Twirl

Friday, April 16, 2010 // 11:50 PM

Ok, today is damn screwed up. First thing Mrs Seck come in kb our class. Apparently some tard go send a email to Dr Yeo complain about the extra lessons cuz of the half days, well he got what he want, lessons cancelled. But EVEN IF we don't want it, we know we are resigned to it, cuz it is to our benefit. What's more, we didn't even know about it till this morning! Tell us next time if you want to send something like this you cunt. Don't blow up a small matter to an A-bomb. I wonder Mr Tieu will kb us too.

This cancelled lessons screwed the later timetable. The Chinese survey could be done on 11.30am or 2.30pm, i chose 2.30 as I thought lessons still went on and School > CCA, but NOOOOOOO, it didn't.Had to rush from promotion parade to do the damn thing.

Promotion, promoted to staff sergeant, heh. I honestly think it was undeserving to say at least. My performance as PC1 is at best, sub-par. There's a lot I can improve, but I'm too nervous to express them out. And like Cheng En niao my marching, it seriously cut me as that's true. But don't rate me now, rate me 3 months later, I know I can do better, gimme this time to prove it.

Who Dares Win
Waves come and go

Saturday, April 10, 2010 // 11:58 PM

Well for those back from BSC, WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D Time to get adapted to the old system again. Speaking of which, another batch will be going off, just like the waves, comes to shore and then withdraws, each time with something different.

Thinking of Thailand as of now, the shots have been opened, and it's a full-fledged riot. (ok a violent protest sound more like it) 9 ppl died already, a shame and unnecessary death, may God Bless those who lost their lives. Same for the Polish President, his wife and members of the Polish government. You went to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in war, yet now you are being mourned by your people. Alas, this is life, fate decides the road travelled, and destiny calls for their souls to come back to where they belonged. For Thailand, things can only get more violent until someone stops it all.

However, even if the red-shirts get their agenda, it will be a vicious cycle once more, a cycle in democracy which will never stop. The power continually shifts hands, but something is always gaining from these...
